Far Away – A Poem

Far away
Is a land full of opportunites
That we seemingly do not have
In our Here and Now.

Far away
It is full of promises.
Sweet nothings, us to save
Calling, loud.

Far away
We long for it.
Because it is out of reach?
Not for us to touch.

Far away
Is the place our dreams are built.
Warm like a day at the beach.
Filling our hearts with desire and such.

But Here and Now.
Is who we are.
It is like an anchor,
holding a ship that wants to sail
on a stormy night.

We need to sail.
We need to roam.
But sometimes,

on stormy nights,
we need that anchor, too.

Picture taken somewhere in Istanbul by me.

What I listened to while writing.
